“Drowning in Guilt”

When Professor Frederica Hoffman, Freddie, to her friends, received a letter at her home in Northern England, it brought back anger, guilt, and sadness. When she reads the letter, sent by a law firm from Philadelphia in Canada, and makes the phone call as suggested within it, those emotions change. Her life, and that of four, as yet unknown others, are set on a new course, thousands of miles away on the Caribbean Island of Antigua.

Freddie had inherited a yacht, a villa, and a substantial amount of money. Her dream of a change in life, her passion for marine conservation and a new beginning were set.

A year later, she places a small advertisement in The Sunday Times Travel Supplement for a crew to join her journey. She poses the question, ‘Time to Change Your Life?’ in the form of a simple QR code.

Four strangers ultimately join her. Each has a different life story, a guilt-driven secret hidden, well buried. Their meeting and journey onboard the yacht ‘Roma,’ both on and under the Caribbean Sea, slowly uncovers their truths, guilt, and their reason for seeking a change in their lives.

One other stranger scanned the code, but found a darker side to their journey. An opportunity for gain, for revenge, unknowingly linked to Freddie's new life. She and her crew find their lives depend on each other as they are faced with his pitiless greed, which ultimately leads to his downfall, as the five new friendships prove unbreakable.
